Tom Clarke Urges The Public To Register To Vote

The deadline to register to vote in the 2010 General Election is fast approaching and Labour candidate Tom Clarke for Coatbridge Chryston & Bellshill constituency is urging the local electorate to make sure they can take part in the most important election in a generation.

Polling day is the 6th of May, but the last chance to get on the Electoral Register in order to cast your vote will be the 20th of April.

Tom Clarke said: "This election is the most important in a generation as Labour fights hard for a fourth term in government.

"It is important that everyone who wants to vote makes sure that their name is on the electoral register or they won't be able to take part on the 6thMay.

"The election is a two-horse race between Labour and the Tories, a vote for any other party will only let David Cameron in the back door. I will be campaigning hard to stop the Tories from getting into number ten and wrecking the recovery.

"The 20th of April is the last chance to register so I urge people in the constituency to make this a priority in the coming days to avoid the disappointment of not being able to vote."
